Top 25 College Football Rankings 2022: Week 9 Coaches Poll

The 2022 college football season is now in full swing and it’s time to see some updated rankings. On Sunday, October 23, the USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll released its Week 9 top 25 to give us a look at how the competition looks around the college football world.

This week, the top two teams in the country remain the same with the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes occupying the top spots.

Tennessee, meanwhile, leapfrogged the Michigan Wolverines for the No. 3 spot while the Clemson Tigers round out the top five.

ABOUT THE USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll

The USA TODAY Sports AFCA football coaches poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of 65 head coaches at Football Bowl Subdivision schools. The panel is chosen by random draw, conference by conference plus independents, from a pool of coaches who have indicated to the American Football Coaches Association their willingness to participate. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second-place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.
