Week 7 of the 2022 college football season is in the books, so the weekly honors are beginning to roll out. For Middle Tennessee punter Kyle Ulbrich, that meant adding a piece of hardware to his trophy case for a strong performance in last weekend’s game against Western Kentucky.
This week, the Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award announced Ulbrich has been named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for the Week 7 games.
Ulbrich punted 9 times during the game against Western Kentucky for a total of 447 yards. His gross average was 49.67 and his net average was 44.33 yards due to him having only 3 punts returned for 28 yards. Four of his punts ended up inside Western Kentucky’s 20-yard line and he had a long punt of 72 yards.
Middle Tennessee will have the weekend off before returning to action on Saturday, October 29 for a meeting with the UTEP Miners at the Sun Bowl. Kickoff is set for 9:00 p.m. ET.
NOTE: Players awarded the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week are not guaranteed as semifinalists for the award.
