Ron Rivera was fuming after Thursday Night Football, despite his Washington Commanders coming out on top over the Chicago Bears.

After the game, Rivera made his way to the podium for the post-game press conference when he got extremely heated and ripped into reporters. Rivera was unhappy with an ESPN report earlier in the day that suggested the team’s trade for quarterback Carson Wentz was “100 percent” a Dan Snyder move and that Rivera was not involved.

Rivera had a different view of the story, cursing out the media and saying that it was his decision to make a move for the former Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller.

“Everybody keeps saying I didn’t want anything to do with Carson, well bullsh*t,” Rivera said, as transcribed by ESPN. “I’m the f*cking guy that pulled out the sheets of paper, looked at the analytics, watched the tape when we were at Indianapolis, OK? And that’s what pisses me off, cause the young man doesn’t deserve to have that all the time.

“I’m sorry, I’m done.”

Wentz was asked about the report later, but said he was unaware of it and went on to praise his head coach.

“Coach Rivera, he’s awesome,” Wentz said. “I’ve got a ton of respect for him, playing in this league for a while from afar, and getting to play for him is even better. He speaks his mind and he’ll be direct and to the point and in this business that means a lot. Guys love that about him and he’s going to be straight up and very motivational. Guys respond to him very well. I’m appreciative of him.”

While there has been plenty of negative drama surrounding the franchise this week, the good news for Washington is that they were able to narrowly secure a 12-7 over the Bears to snap a four-game losing streak and move to 2-4 on the year.

The Commanders return to action next week when they host the Green Bay Packers at FedEx Field.
