An American Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing due to some unforeseen circumstances.
A Wednesday night flight from Miami to Barbados was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing after a “pungent chemical odor” coming from a passenger’s carry-on bag filled the cabin.
The smell was so strong that crew members and passengers began feeling ill and some went to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue safely evacuated all of the passengers and investigated the odor.
According to TMZ, the odor was coming from “a large, industrial-strength bottle of nail polish” that should have never made it past TSA. Eventually, the nail polish spilled throughout the passenger’s bag and that’s when the chemical smell overwhelmed everyone on board.
As for the woman who owned the bag, she is not in any trouble.
