Week 6 of the 2021 college football season is in the books, so the weekly honors are beginning to roll out. For Michigan State Spartans punter Bryce Baringer, that meant adding a piece of hardware to his trophy case for a strong effort in a win over Tulsa.

This week, the Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award announced Baringer has been named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for the Week 6 games.

Baringer punted 7 times during the game against Ohio State for a total of 342 yards. His gross average was 48.86 and his net average was 48.71 yards due to him having only 1 punt returned for 1 yard. Five of his punts ended up inside Ohio State’s 20-yard line and he had a long punt of 59 yards.

The Spartans are coming off of a loss to No. 2 Ohio State, 49-20, but will return to action this weekend against the Wisconsin Badgers. Kickoff at Spartan Stadium is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.

NOTE: Players awarded the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week are not guaranteed as semifinalists for the award.
