Chris Sale’s season has come to an abrupt end.
On Tuesday, the Boston Red Sox revealed that the left-handed pitcher suffered a broken wrist in a bicycle accident over the weekend and will now miss the remainder of the season.
The 33-year-old pitcher, who was nursing a gruesome finger injury after taking a line drive to his hand in mid-July, was diagnosed with a “right distal radius fracture” and underwent surgery in Massachusetts on Monday.

It’s been a rough season for Sale with the broken finger and now broken wrist, along with his infamous meltdown during a rehab assignment earlier in the year.
Sale is expected to be ready for MLB Spring Training next year.
