Ex-NFL LB Rolando McClain Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges

Ex-NFL linebacker Rolando McClain has been arrested again.

According to TMZ Sports, the 33-year-old former Alabama star was arrested in Alabama on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop for speeding. McClain was reportedly driving 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone while driving a white 2022 Mercedes.

Police say they smelled marijuana during the traffic stop.

McClain revealed that he had a pistol inside of the vehicle and said it did not belong to him. During the search, officers found the gun, and a bag of chewing tobacco that had another bag of marijuana in it.

He was booked on charges of speeding, possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, and misdemeanor unlawful possession of marijuana. A passenger in the car, Detrick Mostello, was also arrested during the stop and booked for misdemeanor unlawful possession of marijuana.

Both men were released after posting bail.

Ater helping Alabama win the national championship and earning SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors, McClain was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He would go on to have brief stints with the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys. McClain, who has been out of the league since 2015, finished his professional career with 407 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one touchdown.
