Two former NFL star running backs are reportedly closing in on a contract to meet inside the boxing ring.
According to a report from TMZ Sports, former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson and former All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell will face off next month at crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
The match will be part of YouTube star Austin McBroom’s Social Gloves event.
The 30-year-old Bell was announced as part of the event earlier this month, and now the 37-year-old Peterson has been identified as the potential opponent. Peterson last played in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks in 2021, while Bell last played for the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
Neither ex-NFL player has previously competed in a boxing match.
The Social Gloves event will feature a number of other celebrities including McBroom taking on fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, while former NBA player Nick Young is scheduled to take on rapper Blueface.
