Charlotte Hornets forward Montrezl Harrell is facing some serious legal issues.
According to reports, Harrell is facing a felony drug-trafficking charge after a police officer discovered three pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana in a backpack during a traffic stop in Richmond, Kentucky. The 28-year-old Harrell was pulled over on May 12 for following a vehicle too closely, before the trooper said he smelled marijuana. After conducting the search, the backpack was found in the backseat of the car.
Harrell was charged with trafficking less than five pounds of marijuana and could face up to five years in prison if convicted.

TMZ Sports adds:
Harrell admitted to having weed on him and pulled a “small amount” from his sweatpants … but when cops searched the vehicle, they claim to have found a backpack filled with three pounds of weed in vacuum-sealed bags.
The Hornets declined to comment on Harrell’s arrest.
Before being traded to Charlotte from the Washington Wizards, he had also spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets. Last season, he 11.4 points and 4.9 rebounds and shot 64.5 percent from the field.
Harrell is due to be a free agent this summer.
