Brazilian soccer player Marcelo was demoted from Frech club Lyon thanks to some bodily functions.

According to a report from ESPN.com, Lyon dropped the defender from its first team due to his constant farting and laughing in the club’s dressing room. His contract was terminated back in January after being expelled from the first team last August.

Marcelo allegedly laughed during a speech from team captain Leo Dubois, who was trying to uplift his teammates after a game. Lyon manager Peter Bosz and sporting director Juninho were not happy with the incident. He apparently excessively farted around other teammates, along with Bosz and Juninho.

The stinky situation ended over his “inappropriate behavior.”

Since his contract was terminated by Lyon, Marcelo signed with Bordeaux which currently sits at the bottom of Ligue 1.
