Alvin Kamara’s attorney has issued a statement on the New Orleans Saints star running back’s Las Vegas arrest which led to a felony charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Kamara allegedly punched a man eight times and his associates stomped him out during the Las Vegas nightclub incident which left the victim with an orbital fracture.

Authorities say video footage of the incident backs up the victim’s claims.

Now, Kamara’s team is breaking their silence.

“Alvin Kamara has gained a well-deserved reputation for being a hard-working and community minded individual,” Kamara’s attorney, Drew Findling, said, via Amie Just of NOLA.com.

“The recent Las Vegas allegations are not consistent with who Mr. Kamara has shown himself to be in both his public and private life. Therefore, we are conducting our own investigation into all of the circumstances and individuals associated with this matter to determine both the facts and motivations of all involved.”

According to Kamara, he chased the victim after he saw him running away from his group. Kamara told police he believed the man had done something to his group before the running back chased him down and admitted to punching him several times.

Kamara will appear in court on March 8.
