Sean Payton is out as head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Payton informed the Saints that he would be stepping down from the position after 16 years with the franchise.
During his tenure, Payton led the Saints to a victory in Super Bowl XLIV and compiled a head coaching record of 161-97. He was named the 2006 AP Coach of the Year.
Following news of Payton’s departure, Twitter came ready with the jokes.
Of course, there were a lot of Kevin James references with the comedian portraying Payton in the upcoming Netflix film Home Team — which releases January 28.
