Bill O’Brien is in the final stages of preparation for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, but next week his attention will reportedly turn to a potential return to the NFL.
According to reports, the Alabama offensive coordinator is set to interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching vacancy following Monday’s game between the Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs.
“The #Jaguars plan to interview former #Texans coach Bill O’Brien for their vacant HC job next week after #Bama team plays in the National Championship on Monday,” Ian Rapoport wrote on Twitter.

O’Brien is very familiar with the AFC South from his six seasons leading the Houston Texans. During his tenure, he led the Texans to four division titles.
Now, there could understandably be some concerns in Jacksonville if they decide to bring another coach from the college level to take over the team after the Urban Meyer disaster, but O’Brien does have a track record of winning games so that should help him out. It will be interesting to see if the Jags ultimately land on O’Brien or if the search will continue.
