The Netflix film that nobody asked for about Sean Payton’s year off from football because of his suspension for Bountygate now has a trailer.
The film, titled Home Team, comes from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions and inexplicably features comedian Kevin James as the New Orleans Saints head coach.
During his year away from the NFL, Payton coached his son’s football team and that’s the gist of the film.
Two years after a Super Bowl win when NFL head coach Sean Payton is suspended, he goes back to his hometown and finds himself reconnecting with his 12 year old son by coaching his Pop Warner football team.
Nothing like turning a suspension for intentionally injuring players into a family comedy.
Payton reportedly approved of the script — which was written by Sandler’s brother-in-law Christopher Titone. The film will also feature Rob Schneider, Taylor Lautner, and Isaiah Mustafa.
Home Team is set to drop on January 28.
