The Denver Broncos will be honoring Demaryius Thomas before this weekend’s game against the Detroit Lions.
Broncos head coach Vic Fangio told reporters on Friday that the team will be wearing a helmet decal and will play a video tribute to honor Thomas along with “a moment of silence and maybe another thing or two” before kickoff on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.

Thomas tragically died on Thursday at his home in Roswell, Georgia. The Super Bowl champion and five-time Pro Bowler was found dead in the shower at his home. He was just 33 years old.
Broncos General Manager and President of Football Operations John Elway released a statement following Thomas’ death.
“There are no words to describe the sudden loss of such a special player and special person. Demaryius overcame tremendous adversity in his life, growing into a great leader and one of the very best,” Elway wrote. “He was light-hearted, easy going and loved by everyone. We will miss you, D.T.”
A number of former teammates including Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Tim Tebow also paid tribute to Thomas on Friday, along with many people across the league who knew him.
Thomas would have turned 34 on Christmas Day.
