Georgia football fans are borrowing a longstanding tradition from Ohio State ahead of the Michigan game.

Ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinal between the No. 3 Bulldogs and No. 2 Michigan Wolverines in the Orange Bowl on December 31, the Bulldogs faithful are crossing out any “M” on campus with a red X.

The Georgia Spike Squad shared photos of the X’d out M’s across campus with an homage to Ohio State’s student fan group, The Block O.

“We decided the best way to move on (from the loss against Alabama) was to focus on Michigan and we thought it would be cool if we changed out the M’s on campus to X’s like Ohio State does,” the Spike Squad told The Columbus Dispatch.

“We reached out to The Block O to see if we could do this without stepping on any toes because we understand this is a big tradition.”

I think we all know who Ohio State fans will be rooting for when the semifinal rolls around.

The winner of the Orange Bowl will advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game where they will take on the winner of the other semifinal between the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats.
