Trae Young was not having any of a reporter trying to mock a fan on Twitter with a condescending remark.
The Atlanta Hawks star chimed in on a conversation after a fan was dissed by The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner. The fan said they didn’t want to pay for a subscription to read an article complaining about the team’s defense when it’s been without most of the best Hawks defenders.
Kirschner puffed up his blue checkmark chest and decided to mock the fan for being “broke” and not being able to afford a subscription.
That’s when Young stepped in to defend the fan.
“Smh, who says this?!? I ain’t buying that article.. what that make me?!” Young said.

Score one for Young, because Kirschner being condescending for no reason isn’t going to win him any fans.
Complex pointed out that Young and Kirschner had a testy exchange just a few days ago when the reporter pressed Young about his shot selection, so maybe Young recognized the name and decided he wanted to dunk on Kirsch again just for fun.
I asked Trae Young about his early shot clock 3s late in fourth quarters when games are close. Here's what he had to say about them. pic.twitter.com/i3BkMkeeSj

I think we are all Team Trae in this situation.
