The Miami football program is welcoming Mario Cristobal home.

After days of speculation, it was reported on Monday that Cristobal has informed the Oregon Ducks he will be leaving to accept the head coaching job with the Hurricanes, according to CBS Sports.

Cristobal is returning to his alma mater after four seasons with Oregon where he compiled a 35-13 record.

Cristobal replaces Manny Diaz, who was fired on Monday morning. During his time with Miami as a player from 1989-1992, Cristobal won two national championships.

The cost of terminating Diaz’s deal and buying out Cristobal from Oregon is more than $12 million. In addition, the Hurricanes will reportedly pay Cristobal more than $8 million per year as part of his new deal.
