The Miami football program is welcoming Mario Cristobal home.
Cristobal is returning to his alma mater after four seasons with Oregon where he compiled a 35-13 record.
Cristobal replaces Manny Diaz, who was fired on Monday morning. During his time with Miami as a player from 1989-1992, Cristobal won two national championships.
The cost of terminating Diaz’s deal and buying out Cristobal from Oregon is more than $12 million. In addition, the Hurricanes will reportedly pay Cristobal more than $8 million per year as part of his new deal.
