Quinn Ewers, the top-ranked quarterback in the Class of 2021, has informed Ohio State that he is entering the transfer portal.
Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel was first to report the news. According to reports, Ewers, who starred at powerhouse Southlake Carroll in Texas, is expected to return close to home for his next school.
The Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas Tech Red Raiders are among the favorites to land the top prospect.
Ewers had enrolled early at Ohio State after reclassifying from the class of 2022. He had also made over $1 million thanks to NIL deals thanks to the NCAA’s new rules allowing players to profit off of their name, image, and likeness.
During his time in Columbus, Ewers took just two snaps for the Buckeyes — both of which were handoffs.
