Heisman Watch is nearing its end for 2021, with championship weekend just days away.
The top stars in the country will have one final chance to prove they are deserving of college football’s prestigious award, but Alabama Crimson Tide star quarterback Bryce Young appears to be in the driver’s seat.
Of course, Young has a tough task ahead as he prepares to take on the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs and their star-studded, stout defense. If Young can put on a show, he will all but guarantee he takes home the hardware. However, if he struggles, he could open the door for someone to swoop in and stake their claim to the Heisman in the final hours.
Ahead of championship weekend, sportsbook BetOnline.ag collected more than 200,000 tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases from Twitter users about who should win the Heisman Trophy this season. Queries were run in each state for terms such as “Heisman,” “win the Heisman,” “Heisman Trophy,” #Heisman, #Heisman2021, etc. The player’s name most associated with those terms then “won” that state.
When it was all said and down, Young ran away with the national support.
A full breakdown can be seen below.

BetOnline.ag
- Bryce Young – 26 states
- C.J. Stroud – 16 states
- Aidan Hutchinson – 5 states

Young is also a heavy favorite in the sportsbooks with BetOnline.ag listing the signal-caller at -210, while Michigan Wolverines star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson follows behind at a distant +550.
