As if anyone needed another reason to hate those who make the decisions in college football, the Colonial Athletic Association has become public enemy number one.
The CAA has informed the James Madison football program that if they announce a move to the Sun Belt, the team will be banned from the CAA conference championships. An appeal to league presidents was denied.

Who in the CAA athletic commission thought this idea would get James Madison to stay with them? If anything, this decision will all but seal James Madison’s fate that they are on their way out the door. The university appealed the decision by the CAA, and spoiler alert, the appeal was denied.
The Sun Belt would be a massive jump for James Madison and would be a step in the right direction for the university. It seems the CAA doesn’t approve of growth for programs that are in their conference and doesn’t care about college athletes. This decision will be a black eye on a conference that doesn’t make the headlines often.
When this story hit national news, one would think that the CAA would backpedal from this decision, but this is the NCAA. James Madison, good luck on your move to the Sun Belt!
