A new Mel Kiper Big Board for the 2022 NFL Draft class has been released, and it comes with a new No. 1 quarterback.

On Tuesday, the ESPN NFL Draft guru dropped his latest player rankings for next year’s draft with Pitts star Kenny Pickett becoming the top-rated quarterback following the Panthers’ big win over Clemson. Pickett threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns against the Tigers.

Before the season, Oklahoma‘s Spencer Rattler and Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral were among the top signal-callers, but Pickett has seen a meteoric rise similar to that of Joe Burrow two years ago.

Pickett checks in as the No. 15 overall prospect, with the top of the rankings dominated by players on the defensive side of the ball and in the trenches.

“Pickett is making a leap not unlike Joe Burrow’s from two seasons ago. After his impressive performance against Clemson, I’m ready to put him on my Big Board,” Kiper wrote. “He is accurate to all three levels of the field, has shown patience in taking the checkdown throws when necessary and has good zip on his throws. Offensive coordinator Mark Whipple has done a great job with Pickett’s development.”
