Canelo Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant is set to go down at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 6, 2021. The bout, billed as Road to Undisputed, is for the WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, IBF, and The Ring super middleweight championships.
The winner of Canelo vs. Plant will become the first undisputed super middleweight champion in boxing history.
Leading up to the bout, there has been plenty of bad blood between the two men — including a press conference scrap — which is something new for Canelo. However, he vows not to let emotions get the best of him and plans to put Plant away within 8 rounds.
“I feel strong and I’m very excited. I’m just continuing to move forward day by day toward fight night. I’m ready to make history on November 6,” Canelo said after virtual workouts last weekend. “It’s new for me to have this much bad blood with an opponent. It’s very different from normal and it’s definitely the most animosity I’ve had with an opponent heading into a big fight.
“I’m sticking with my prediction of a knockout before round eight. The first couple of rounds will be difficult, but as the fight progresses, I am going to be able to get him out of there.”
Ahead of the pay-per-view bout, Showtime dropped its full episode of All Access which gives a behind-the-scenes look at each fighter’s preparations for the end-of-month showdown.
