Welcome, to Week 8 of the college football season. This week doesn’t look as appetizing as weeks past, but a college football junkie will still be interested in this week’s slate of games.
While it may not be the best-looking week on paper, here are the best games to watch for the weekend.
Northwestern vs. #6 Michigan, Noon EST., FOX

You don’t hear much on the Michigan Wolverines when Jim Harbaugh has them undefeated, ranked 6th in the country. Everyone is just waiting for the Wolverines-Buckeyes matchup to cap off the season. To get to that game, Harbaugh must take care of what is in front of him, including Northwestern. The Wolverines need to keep their eyes on the prize and should take care of business Saturday.
LSU vs. #12 Ole Miss, 3:30 p.m. EST., CBS

The Lane Train is continuing this week as Ole Miss welcomes LSU to Oxford. LSU made waves this past week with the news that Ed Orgeron will not be returning next year but will finish this season. Sure, that makes sense. With rumors already starting that Kiffin could be in the mix for the LSU job, this game could be a great interview opportunity for coach Kiffin.
USC vs. #13 Notre Dame, 7:30 p.m. EST., NBC

This game is a matter of pride. USC isn’t the program it once was, and Notre Dame’s season isn’t turning out how they would have hoped. Winning this game for either program will give fans something to be happy about at the end of the season. Bragging rights are on the line in this primetime matchup.
New Mexico State vs. Hawaii, 11:59 p.m. EST,

Yes, that start time is correct, a midnight kickoff that everyone on the East Coast will surely miss. But if you are one of those strange souls who love a late Hawaii game, expect a lopsided one in this matchup. New Mexico State has one win on the season. Oh yeah, these teams have already played once this season, with Hawaii winning 41-21. Does that make sense? Either way, enjoy your late-night football, you filthy animals.
