Urban Meyer is on the hot seat, and multiple ESPN NFL analysts are calling for him to be fired.
During Monday’s episode of NFL Live, former NFL players turned analysts Marcus Spears and Dan Orlovsky publicly called for the Jacksonville Jaguars to give Meyer the boot for being a distraction, failing to lead, and, of course, the team’s 0-4 record.
Both Spears and Orlovsky ripped Meyer to shreds for the way he has been handling himself as a head coach, while also saying we shouldn’t be surprised based on Meyer’s track record.
Earlier on Monday, Meyer apologized to his team for being a distraction after a viral video over the weekend showed a young woman grinding on the head coach in Columbus.
“I just apologized to the team and the staff for being a distraction. It was stupid. So, I explained to everybody what happened and owned it. It was stupid. I should not have had myself in that position,” Meyer told the media.
The Jaguars did not comment on the video.
While the video was more hilarious than anything, it was still a bad look for the head coach of a team that is sitting at 0-4.
The Jaguars will look for their first win on Sunday, October 10, when they welcome the Tennessee Titans to EverBank Field. Tennessee will be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing loss to the New York Jets. It may be Meyer’s last chance to get in the win column before the pressure to cut him loose becomes too much.
