Portland State football coach Bruce Barnum followed through on his promise to buy beer for fans who showed up to the Vikings’ season opener — which was a successful 21-7 win over Western Oregon.

Barnum took to social media to show that he picked up the tab for everyone at the stadium’s beer garden, and it came with a hefty price tag.

According to a photo of his receipt, Barnum spent $14,448 for 786 Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPAs and 1,260 Coors Lights.

The amount of beer that fans drank is actually surprising, because only 3,000 fans showed up to the game, according to TMZ Sports. You know that some fans were REALLY enjoying their gameday experience.

Up next for Barnum and the Vikings is a game against Montana State. Whether fans will be treated to beer on the house again, however, remains to be seen.
