The NFL season is mere days away, and the excitement is palpable. Fans can finally return to stadiums and cheer on their favorite teams in hopes of not becoming the next viral video of getting knocked out by an opposing team fanbase member. Football life is starting to become normal again, and the NFL is giving the fans plenty of great matchups throughout the season. Here are the five games any fan must watch this season.

5. Jaguars vs. Jets, December 26th.

Who knows what will become of these two teams before their meeting on December 26th. The potential of seeing the overall number one and number two draft picks battle it out for their respective teams is enough to intrigue football fans to take a glimpse at two teams who could be battling for another top-five pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Will Urban Meyer’s heart even be in the game by then? Only time will tell, but this game has the makings of being a perfect post-Christmas hangover cure.

Lions vs. Rams, October 24th

Not many fans have been rushing to catch a Lions game recently, and no fan really should be. However, on October 24th, the pride of Detroit will travel to Los Angeles to take on a former friend and Detroit legend Matthew Stafford. Stafford was the heartbeat of the Lions during his tenure with the team, and now he gets the chance to be on the opposite side of a Lions rebuild. The matchup favors Stafford to carve up his former team and could be a terrible gut punch to Lions fans watching Stafford play for another team and be successful.

3. Steelers vs. Browns, October 31st

This matchup has all the makings of helmet slap part two coming to fruition. The Cleveland Browns decimated the Pittsburgh Steelers last season in the AFC Wildcard round, and the fans of both sides have been itching to see their respective teams take the gridiron once again. Expect the Dawg Pound to be shaking on Halloween as an energized Baker Mayfield looks to dethrone the kings of the North.

2. Packers vs. Chiefs, November 7th

Before Tom Brady reminded everyone who he was in the NFC Championship last season, fans were dreaming of an offensive shootout between NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and leader of the back-to-back AFC Champions Patrick Mahomes. Of course, Brady disposed of both of these talented QBs on his quest to win yet another Super Bowl. The NFL is giving the fans the matchup they thought they would see without that pesky Brady in the middle to mess it up. Expect offensive firepower and each team not wanting the opposing QB to have the ball on the last drive.

1. Buccaneers vs. Patriots, October 3rd

Tom Brady is coming home to take on Belichick and the New England Patriots. Tom will be accompanied by another former Patriot in Rob Gronkowski and they both will be sporting a new ring to add to their already impressive collection. I can’t wait for the week of the game when Belichick enthusiastically tells the Boston media that this is just another game. The pregame handshake will have the attention of every camera and you best believe that Thomas Brady will be out for blood when he takes his first snap under center. This game can’t get here soon enough.
