Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return to Old Trafford as a member of Manchester United.

The news rocked the soccer world on Friday when it was announced that Ronaldo would be leaving Italian club Juventus after scoring 81 goals in 98 appearances over the past three years.

After the news surfaced, Ronaldo took to social media to share a heartfelt message with the Juventus fans to thank them for their support.

“Today I depart from an amazing club, the biggest in Italy and surely one of the biggest in all of Europe,” Ronaldo wrote. “I gave my heart and soul for Juventus and I’ll always love the city of Turin until my final days. The ‘tiffosi bianconeri’ always respected me and I tried to thank that respect by fighting for them in every game, every season, every competition. In the end, we can all look back and realize that we achieved great things, not all that we wanted, but still, we wrote a pretty beautiful story together.

“I will always be one of you. You are now part of my history, as I feel that I’m part of yours. Italy, Juve, Turin, tifosi bianconeri, you’ll always be in my heart.”

The official terms of Ronaldo’s deal with Man U have not been announced at this time.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who will turn 37 next year, played for Manchester United from 2003-2009 before his move to Real Madrid. During his first stint with Man U, Ronaldo made 196 appearances and scored 84 goals.
