Gardner Minshew is locked in a quarterback competition with No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence, according to Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer. But after a dreadful interception on Monday night’s preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, the competition should be settled.
Minshew was rolling out to his right when he lobbed a duck into the middle of the endzone. Predictably, it was picked off.

Urban Meyer needs to just go ahead and stop the charade now. Trevor Lawrence should be the starter, he should be getting all of the reps in practice, and everyone knows it. His teammates know it. The fans know it, so do the right thing, Urban.
And, as you may have expected, the internet had some thoughts about Minshew’s endzone interception and wasted no time shredding him for the decision.

There is NOT a QB controversy in JAX. Gardner Minshew is bad

Hey Coach Meyer, forget the #Jaguars starting QB job. I don't think Gardner Minshew earned the #1 back up role yet even… Actually he is losing that battle to Beathard. #nflhu

CJ Beathard is significantly better than Gardner Minshew… lol. #Jaguars #MNF
