Fantasy football drafts across the country are taking place as everyone gets their squads ready for the upcoming NFL regular season. Of course, there is a consensus when it comes to the top quarterbacks and top running backs in the league, so it sleepers are always a key to bringing home your championship.
Fantasy football expert Mike Wright recently spoke with TMZ Sports about the season and named one NFL rookie as a potential “cheat code” to winning your league.
The player? San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance, a first-round pick out of North Dakota State.
Even if Lance starts the season as the backup to Jimmy Garoppolo, Wright believes he is worth the risk. Because Lance is a true dual-threat quarterback, he brings you the added value of racking up points with his legs.
“He is one of just a couple quarterbacks in the league that has the potential to be a 1,000-yard rusher,” Wright said. “That is the cheat code. That unlocks your quarterback’s fantasy scoring.”
So, are you willing to stash Lance on your bench as a late-round flyer to see if he can be the spark for your team in a playoff round? Sound off in the comments section below.
