Kayla Harrison had no time for a reporter’s “disrespect” towards her opponent Genah Fabian.
During a media conference call for the PFL Playoffs 2 event this week, an MMA reporter directed a question at Fabian and referred to her as a “pretty woman”– after mispronouncing her name.
Harrison didn’t have time for the reporter’s line of questioning and called him out for the way he addressed Fabian.

“Hey, I got a question for you,” Harrison asked the journalist. “If you were interviewing a guy, would you say to him after pronouncing his name wrong, would you say, ‘Hey, by the way, you’re a really handsome guy, but oh, you can fight, too.’ Would you say that to a guy? No. You just base how you talk to them based off of their skill and based off of them as a human being. Not, ‘Oh, you’re a beautiful man.’ I mean that’s pretty disrespectful. She’s a professional.”
While the two-time gold medalist is facing Fabian in a matter of days, she is making it clear that her opponent deserves respect.
PFL Playoffs 2 is set to go down on Thursday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The main card is set to air on ESPN, with the preliminary action live on ESPN+.
