USA’s Gable Steveson Wins Olympic Wrestling Gold With Wild Buzzer-Beater (VIDEO)

Gable Steveson is an Olympic gold medalist after a wild comeback that was capped off by an insane buzzer-beater to win the match.

The University of Minnesota wrestling star was representing the United States in Tokyo when he took on Georgia’s Geno Petriashvili for the Olympic men’s freestyle 125kg gold medal.

The 21-year-old Steveson was trailing Petriashvili, who was the No. 1 seed and three-time world champion, by three points with less than 10 seconds to go.

In those final seconds, Steveson landed two takedowns to cap off an incredible win for gold.

Back in March, Steveson won his first NCAA title and was the co-winner of the Hodge Trophy, college wrestling’s equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. Steveson becomes the first American to win Olympic gold at heavyweight since Bruce Baumgartner in 1992.

Afterwards, Steveson had plenty of energy left in the tank.

These are the Olympic moments we love to see.
