The New York Jets will be honoring assistant coach Greg Knapp during the upcoming season.
This week, the Jets announced they will be honoring Knapp, who passed away from injuries suffered in a horrific bike accident earlier this month, with a special “GK” helmet decal.
“You’ll always be with us, Coach Knapp,” the Jets said while showing off the decal on social media.

Knapp was 58 years old when he passed away on July 22 from his injuries. He had been struck by a car while riding his bicycle in California on July 17.
Knapp was an NFL assistant coach since 1997. He has worked with the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos. Knapp served as Peyton Manning’s quarterbacks coach during the Denver Broncos’ 2015 Super Bowl campaign.
Our deepest condolences continue to go out to Knapp’s family and friends, and everyone he impacted during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.
