Will he or won’t he? There remain plenty of questions about whether Aaron Rodgers will suit up for the Green Bay Packers during the 2021 NFL season, and time is running out for a resolution.

Despite the timeline, the star quarterback has refrained from publicly commenting on the drama after reports surfaced that he did not want to play for the Packers again. Now, Rodgers is breaking his silence and explaining the reason for his decision to avoid speaking on the matter.

Rodgers said that there is “wisdom in silence” while saying he is working on himself during the current uncertainty about his future.

“Sometimes, the loudest person in the room is not the smartest person. Sometimes the loudest person in the room is not the person who has all the facts on their side or the truth on their side. Sometimes there’s a lot of wisdom in silence,” Rodgers said, according to the Associate Press. “Sometimes there’s a lot of wisdom in being selective on what you say. This offseason I’ve spent a lot of time working on myself.”

“The mental side of it is so important for all of us athletes. I don’t think it’s talked about enough. But taking time to work on yourself is, I think, the best gift any of us can give ourselves.”

It currently looks like the Packers will have to take the field in 2021 without Rodgers under center, because he has been firm in his stance.

That turns the attention to Rodgers. Will he ultimately cave in and return to Green Bay? Will he get the trade that he has been asking for? Or will he have to miss the entire season as the situation continues to play out? Only time will tell.
