You knew the jokes were coming. On Sunday morning, the New York Times dropped a bombshell report about some behind-the-scenes drama at ESPN that was sparked by Rachel Nichols making disparaging comments about colleague Maria Taylor and saying that the Worldwide Leader’s decision to give Taylor the NBA Finals gig was nothing more than a “diversity hire.”
The comments have reportedly caused a “storm” at ESPN with many people unhappy about what Nichols had to say.
Predictably, Twitter had plenty of thoughts about the ongoing drama and was quick to fire off the jokes at Nichols’ expense, making it very clear that social media is on Team Maria Taylor.
