We are beginning to learn some details about the incident which led to Virginia Tech football player Isi Etute being charged with second-degree murder.

According to TMZ Sports, the linebacker beat a 40-year-old man to death after a catfishing incident.

Etute’s defense claims that suspended Hokie was catfished by the man on Tinder with the man posing as a woman named “Angie.” Eventually, the two linked up for oral sex.

The two had planned to meet up again, but when Etute discovered “Angie” was actually a man he went into a rage and beat the person to death.

The victim was discovered two days later with missing teeth and broken bones in his face and skull.

Etute was granted bail and will be until his next hearing in September. However, he will remain suspended by the Virginia Tech football program while the case plays out in court.
