Former New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel has passed away at age 71. Fassel’s son, Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator John Fassel, confirmed the news on Tuesday morning.

Fassel reportedly died from a heart attack, according to reports.

Fassel led the Giants to the playoffs three times and came up just short against the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV.

In 2009, Fassel took over the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League.

Our deepest condolences go out to Fassel’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.
