A Boston Celtics fan is paying the price for launching a water bottle at Kyrie Irving and his Brooklyn Nets teammates following their blowout win over the Celtics at TD Garden on Sunday night.

Irving and his teammates were immediately outraged by the incident and the fan was later arrested, according to NBC Sports Boston.

In addition to his arrest, the fan has been banned for life from TD Garden.

“A guest was arrested by Boston Police at the end of tonight’s Boston Celtics game for throwing an object. We will support and provide assistance to Boston Police as this incident is under review. We have zero tolerance for violations of our guest code of conduct, and the guest is subject to a lifetime ban from TD Garden,” Tricia McCorkle, a TD Garden spokesperson, said in a statement.

During his postgame press conference, Irving continued to sound off on the incident and voiced his displeasure.

“It’s unfortunate that sports has come to this kind of crossroads,” Irving told reporters. “Just underlying racism and just treating people like they’re in a human zoo. Throwing things at them. At a certain point it just becomes too much.”

With the latest incidents involving Irving and a Philadelphia 76ers fan throwing popcorn on Russell Westbrook, it’s not surprising to see the NBA cracking down on fan conduct.

The Nets currently hold a 3-1 series lead over the Celtics and will return to action on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center as they attempt to cloes out the series.
