Trae Young was a hero and a villain on Sunday night, depending on who you ask.
The Atlanta Hawks star lifted his team to victory in Game 1 after nailing a game-winner over the New York Knicks with less than a second left at Madison Square Garden.
After hitting his game-winning shot, Young motioned for the crowd to be quiet after earlier in the night they showed the star guard with “F-you” chants.
And Young enjoyed the moment so much, he continued basking in his glory all the way back to the locker room. Here was his brilliant game-winner and reaction to putting his team in the series lead.
Trae Young had the entire crowd MSG chant “F*** you Trae Young” and then sent them home silent by hitting a game-winner in his playoff debut two hours later.

“I wanted to hear those F-U chants again,” Young said in his post-game interview on TNT.
He later added: “I’ve always looked at it is I’m doing something right. If I’m offending them with my play that they hate me that much, I’m obviously doing something right.
“I just got to let my play do the talking. At the end of the day, fans can only talk. They can’t guard me. They’re not out there playing.”

And Young kept that same energy all the way into the tunnel.
