The incentives for receiving the coronavirus vaccine continue to grow.
After previously announcing New Yorkers who receive a vaccination at a pop-up shop in the subway can receive free rides for a month and Shake Shack will give out free fries with proof of vaccination, there will be a more significant financial reward possible.
According to the New York Post, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced vaccinated New Yorkers will have the opportunity to win $5 million.
From the report:
Any New Yorker who gets inoculated at a state-run immunization site from May 24 to May 28 will get a scratch-off lottery ticket with a $20 value for the $5 Million Mega Multiplier Lottery, Cuomo said during a press briefing at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
“The chances of winning something in this program are one in nine that you win something,” the governor said.
Prizes will range from $20 to the grand prize of $5 million. You can see a full breakdown here.
