The Atlanta Falcons could be a potential mover ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.
According to Albert Breer of the MMQB, the Falcons have had “exploratory talks” with teams about moving the No. 4 overall pick.
While Breer expects the Falcons to hold on to the pick and take the top quarterback available on their draft board, there is also a real possibility that the team could choose a star playmaker like Florida tight end Kyle Pitts or trade the pick to a team outside of the top 10 that is targeting a top quarterback while adding draft assets for the future.
Breer wrote:
And that leaves the Falcons as a team to watch—one that’s going to have to make a decision on its pick with some complicated finances at quarterback (due to all Matt Ryan’s restructures), and a team in need of cheaper young talent with which to surround its core. My guess has been that the Falcons will stick at No. 4 and take a quarterback, because I don’t think they want to count on picking that high again and this happens to be a really strong year at the position.
Another team to watch out for could be the Detroit Lions.
The 2021 NFL Draft, which is the 86th annual player selection, will be held across three days from April 29 to May 1.
This year’s draft will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, incorporating FirstEnergy Stadium, the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame, and the Great Lakes Science Center.
