MMA Legend Anderson Silva Signs Boxing Deal To Fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

Mixed martial arts legend Anderson Silva was released from his UFC contract in November 2020, but he is set to return to action this summer in a different sport.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Silva has signed a boxing contract to fight Mexican boxing star Julio César Chávez Jr.

The fight will take place on a June 19 pay-per-view at Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico that hs been dubbed “Tribute to the Kings.”

The fight, which was put together by Keith Schoen of Schoen Entertainment along with Armando Bareno of Global Sports Streaming, will also feature Chávez Jr.’s legendary father.

58-year-old Hall of Famer Julio César Chávez Sr., arguably the greatest boxer of all-time, will be taking on Hector Camacho Jr., the son of Hector “Macho” Camacho, in a special exhibition match.

At a time when boxing legends are returning to the ring, this is one of the better events that is being put together and it should be a lot of fun.
