The New York Jets hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and many expect the team to focus on a quarterback like BYU’s Zach Wilson, Trey Lance of North Dakota State, or Ohio State star Justin Fields.

Following an outstanding performance on Friday afternoon at his Pro Day, Wilson discussed the possibility of being selected No. 2 overall and playing under the bright lights of the New York market.

Going from Provo, Utah to New York City would be a major change, but Wilson seems excited about the possibility.

Not only did Wilson say he would be excited to play for whichever team drafts him, the star quarterback had nothing but great things to say about the team’s coaching staff and front office.

“Great staff. Love those guys. [General Manager] Joe Douglas is a great guy. It was good to see him out here,” Wilson said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.

“They’ve got a good thing going.”

During his final season at BYU, Wilson completed 73.5 percent of his passes for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns.

If he is able to bring that production to East Rutherford along with his ability to improvize under pressure, it won’t take long for Jets fans to welcome Wilson with open arms.

Unfortunately for Sam Darnold, that would likely spell the end of his tenure with the Jets.
