Isaiah Wilson, the troubled NFL Draft bust who was released by the Miami Dolphins this month just weeks after the team acquired him from the Tennessee Titans via trade, was arrested back in January before the Titans decided it was officially time to move on.
According to the Tennessean, Wilson was arrested at gunpoint and charged with seven driving and drug-possession charges after a high-speed chase that reached 140 mph.
Police stopped the pursuit because of dangerous speeds but later found Wilson’s vehicle wrecked approximately 100 yards off of the road.
The official charges were felony fleeing from police, possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance, marijuana possession, drug-related paraphernalia, reckless driving, reckless conduct, and speeding in a construction zone.
It is just one of many off-field incidents for the former first-round pick.
Those off-field issues cost Wilson $11 million in guaranteed money after the Titans voided his contract under a personal conduct clause.
The 22-year-old was cut by the Dolphins after skipping his first meeting with the team and physical, while also skipping two voluntary workouts he had committed to attending.
Wilson was filmed dancing shirtless on top of a car while he was supposed to be reporting to the Dolphins.
During his rookie season, received a trespass warning at Tennessee State after fleeing an off-campus party during training camp, was charged with DUI after doing donuts in a Nashville intersection and later crashing into a wall. He was also placed on the reserve/non-football injury list and the COVID/reserve list twice.
