We are about to be in for a wild treat on the silver screen.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, actress Elizabeth Banks is set to direct a horror-comedy film titled Cocaine Bear that is going to be based on a 1985 true story about a black bear who came across an absurd amount of cocaine.
As the story goes, a 175-pound black bear came across a duffle bag that was dropped from an airplane by a drug smuggler named Andrew Thornton.
The bag contained more than 70 pounds of cocaine.
Unfortunately, the bear was later found dead from a suspected drug overdose — go figure.
Filming is expected to begin this summer.
Exact details about the plot of the film, however, have not been released at this time but based on the true story we can expect it to be a wild ride.
Cocaine Bear, we will be waiting for you.
