New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, like many Saints fans, is all-in on the Russell Wilson trade rumors. Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks appear to be at odds, which has led to speculation about a potential trade in the future.
While Wilson has not directly asked for a trade, his agent has provided a list of four teams that the star quarterback would welcome a trade to.
Those four teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders, and the New Orleans Saints.
In an effort to campaign for Wilson to join the Saints, Mayor Cantrell released a video saying the city would welcome Wilson with open arms while urging him to join the team and help lead them to the promised land for another ring.
“I’ve heard the rumors now, and I want to make sure that you understand that the city of New Orleans is the place for you and your beautiful family,” Cantrell said.
“I know you, Mr. Wilson, would be a great addition to the New Orleans Saints. And more importantly, I can see us in that number winning that Super Bowl championship once again.”
I have been hearing the rumors on the streets. 👀 I don't know if they are true or not. But, I just want @dangerusswilson & @ciara to know that if these rumors are true. Please know that the City of New Orleans will welcome you and your family with open arms! #nola #whodat pic.twitter.com/yE1MJYssLS

Whether Mayor Cantrell’s efforts pay off remains to be seen, but you can’t fault her for trying.
