Drew Brees is back.
After missing the last four games with multiple broken ribs and a punctured lung, Brees is set to be the starting quarterback when the New Orleans Saints take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Brees was designated for return from injured reserve earlier this week.
“We were encouraged at the start of the week, we wanted to see how it felt as he went through a full practice week and he’s done a good job,” Payton said, via Katherine Terrell of TheAthletic.com.
The Saints are at 10-3 on the season while the Chiefs sit at 12-1.
Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Superdome is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS.
