The third College Football Playoff rankings of the 2020 season were released on Tuesday, December 9, so we are getting the latest look at the teams in the driver’s seat for the postseason.

Predictably, the Alabama Crimson Tide continues to hold on to the No. 1 spot.

Rounding out the four playoff spots are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Clemson Tigers, and Ohio State Buckeyes. On the outside looking in is the Texas A&M Aggies, Florida Gators, and Iowa State Cyclones.

One of the big stories to watch will be the future of Ohio State after Michigan canceled this weekend’s rivalry game with the Buckeyes due to COVID-19. Currently, Ohio State does not have enough games played to qualify for the Big Ten Championship Game which would cripple its playoff chances.
