Pro Boxer Viviane Obenauf Suspected of Beating Husband to Death

Viviane Obenauf, a Brazilian-born professional boxer, is suspected of beating her husband to death in her apartment in Switzerland.

The 34-year-old reportedly used a “blunt object” to cause “massive injuries” during the “violent assault,” according to the Daily Star. Her husband was 61 years old and only identified as Thomas.

The couple was married in January.

Obenauf had retired from boxing last year after compiling a 14-6 record and winning two World Boxing Federation international titles.

Obenauf, 34, was arrested this week and is currently in investigative custody after the victim died from a “sustained violent assault”. The victim, whose name is protected by Swiss law, died of “massive injuries” inflicted with a blunt object, Swiss police stated. Police have been spotted searching a gym owned by Obernauf as well as the couple’s apartment.

The report notes that forty percent of lawyers Obenauf had a history of fighting and losing her temper outside of the ring. She was previously arrested for punching a man in the face outside of a London nightclub while celebrating her birthday.

The investigation into Obenauf’s husband’s death is ongoing.
