UPDATE: Djokovic Also Tests Positive For Covid-19

Yesterday we reported on the insanity that is/was the Adria Tour and the resulting Covid-19 outbreak that caused the whole event to be shut down. One of the primary organizers, Novak Djokovic, was particularly defiant when it came to social distancing and the various rules that come along with living during a global pandemic, and it was thought that up to that point he had not been tested “because he wasn’t feeling any symptoms”. Well, lo and behold, Novak and his wife have tested positive for Covid-19. Who could have seen this coming?

Another player, Viktor Troicki, also tested positive, and it wouldn’t really be surprising at this point if everyone who participated in the event contracts the virus. Honestly, what did they expect? It’s kind of like karmic justice, even though nobody really deserves to suffer through the illness, if they actively defy the advice of every government and expert on the planet it really is hard to have any sympathy. Let’s just hope not many spectators got it, especially when they came from many different countries to go to the event.

We touched on it briefly yesterday, but Djokovic is a full blown anti-vaxxer. Normally this is a title you’d associate with neurotic suburban moms who feed their kids nothing but kale and air, but it looks like nobody is free from the clutches of insanity. Back in April he was quoted as saying “Personally, I am opposed to vaccination, and I wouldn’t want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel.” Listen dude, it’s one thing if you don’t want to get the flu shot, but when you’re the best athlete at your sport and you travel constantly, you’ve gotta make some concessions. Use your crazy voodoo witch doctors on your own time, but don’t get us normal people sick.
